Stefan van der Hoeven is one of the Netherlands' most accomplished polo players and a key figure in the Royal Dutch Polo Association (KNPV). A 4-goal rated player, Van der Hoeven has been instrumental in developing the organisational framework of Dutch polo, serving in leadership roles at the KNPV and helping to build the Dutch Open into a recognised national championship. A stylish and technically refined player, he competes regularly on the Dutch and German circuits, bringing international experience from tours across Europe. Van der Hoeven has represented the Netherlands at international level and is known for his mentoring of younger Dutch players.
