    Cascais Polo Club

    , Portugal

Cascais Polo Club is Portugal's oldest and most established polo institution, located in the coastal municipality of Cascais west of Lisbon that has served as a summer retreat for Portuguese royalty and aristocracy since the nineteenth century. The club operates in a region with a strong equestrian heritage — the Sintra-Cascais natural park and the surrounding horse country of the Estoril coast have always supported equestrian activity — and has been the centre of organised polo in Portugal for decades. The club is affiliated with the Portuguese Polo Federation (FEP equivalent) and hosts national championship events as well as social polo throughout the mild Atlantic coast season. The proximity to Lisbon — 30 minutes by motorway — makes Cascais an accessible base for the capital's polo-playing community, and the club's setting between Atlantic coastline and the Serra de Sintra provides one of the most scenic polo environments in Western Europe.

    Herdade da Comporta Polo Club

    , Portugal

Herdade da Comporta Polo Club is one of Europe's most fashionable and talked-about polo destinations, set within the Comporta nature reserve south of Lisbon on Portugal's Alentejo coast. The Comporta estate — a vast private landholding of rice paddies, cork oak forests, and pristine Atlantic beaches — has become the most sought-after luxury retreat in Europe for those seeking a quieter, more authentic alternative to the Algarve. The polo club sits within this extraordinary landscape, offering a playing experience that is as visually stunning as any on the continent. International players and patrons from across Europe visit for beach polo events and traditional grass polo, combining play with the distinctive Comporta lifestyle of whitewashed fishermen's cottages, seafood restaurants, and unspoiled beaches. The club has hosted celebrity-attended polo events that have attracted significant European press coverage, cementing Comporta's status as the most elegant emerging polo destination in Southern Europe.
