Polo Fundamentals
Master the grip, the four basic swings, and proper body position — the foundation of every polo player's game.
The Correct Grip
Your grip is the foundation of every shot. Get this right, and everything else becomes easier.
Hold the mallet at the very end of the handle (not in the middle)
Wrap your fingers around with thumb pointing down the shaft
Your hand should form a "V" shape on top of the handle
Keep a firm but relaxed grip - too tight limits swing power
The sling goes around your thumb for safety

The Four Basic Swings
