The Chile Open Polo Championship is South America's most prestigious national polo event outside Argentina, held annually at one of Santiago's premier polo clubs in the Chilean spring and autumn seasons. Chile's polo community is small but intensely passionate, centred on Santiago's established club network in the foothills of the Andes. The Chile Open draws the country's top players alongside Argentine professionals who cross the Andes for the competitive season, creating a tournament standard well above what the country's limited polo scale might suggest.
