    All Ireland Polo Club

    , Ireland

All Ireland Polo Club, founded in 1872, holds the distinction of being Ireland's oldest polo club and one of the oldest continuously operating polo clubs in the world. Set within Phoenix Park in central Dublin — one of the largest enclosed recreational spaces in any European capital — the club benefits from a remarkable urban location that has placed polo within sight of the Irish public for over 150 years. The club's royal patronage history reflects polo's status in Victorian and Edwardian Ireland, when the Phoenix Park ground hosted games attended by British royalty and the Irish ascendancy. Today the club operates within Ireland's equestrian federation framework, hosting domestic tournaments and maintaining the traditions of Irish polo while welcoming an increasingly diverse membership drawn from Dublin's professional and business community.

    Cork Polo Club

    , Ireland

Cork Polo Club is southern Ireland's oldest and most prestigious polo venue, the heartbeat of Munster polo and a club whose history stretches back to the Victorian era when the sport arrived in Ireland in the wake of British military and Anglo-Irish landowning traditions. Located in the rolling countryside of County Cork, the club's grounds benefit from Ireland's famously lush grass — maintained in exceptional condition by the reliable Atlantic rainfall that distinguishes Irish polo from the parched grounds of summer polo in continental Europe. The club has been the centre of Munster polo for generations, hosting an annual calendar of competitive matches, inter-club tournaments, and social polo days that draw players and spectators from across the province. Its connection to Cork's broader sporting culture gives it a distinctive identity within Irish polo: a club rooted in a specific regional tradition rather than simply reflecting the metropolitan patterns of Dublin-based polo. Membership at Cork Polo Club includes players from Cork city and county, from Tipperary, Kerry, and Waterford, and from the farming and professional communities that sustain Irish rural sport. The club's coaching programme offers introductory and developmental sessions that maintain the pipeline of new players essential for any polo club's long-term sustainability. For visitors to southern Ireland — a region of extraordinary natural beauty that encompasses the Wild Atlantic Way, the Ring of Kerry, and the Blarney Stone — Cork Polo Club offers an authentic glimpse into Irish country sporting life alongside all the other pleasures the region has to offer.

    Wicklow Polo Club

    , Ireland

Wicklow Polo Club brings polo to the breathtaking landscape of County Wicklow — often called the Garden of Ireland for its extraordinary combination of wooded glens, rolling hills, coastal headlands, and the dramatic Wicklow Mountains that rise above the county's interior. Situated within easy reach of Dublin, the club serves the eastern Irish polo circuit while providing a setting of genuine natural beauty that distinguishes it from more urban polo venues. The club operates within the Leinster polo circuit, the most active in Ireland, connecting with clubs in Dublin, Kildare, and the broader east of the country. Wicklow's proximity to the capital — approximately an hour's drive from Dublin city centre — makes it an accessible option for Dublin-based polo enthusiasts who prefer a more rural setting for their polo activities. Wicklow Polo Club's membership draws from the county's equestrian community — which is extensive, given Wicklow's tradition in show jumping and eventing as well as polo — and from the professional and business community that has increasingly relocated to the county as Dublin's growth has extended southward along the east coast. The club's social character reflects this blend of traditional country sporting values and contemporary suburban sophistication. The club's grounds, set against the background of the Wicklow Mountains and benefiting from the county's abundant rainfall, are maintained to a competitive standard that allows it to host inter-club matches and participate meaningfully in the Irish polo season. Wicklow represents the best of Irish provincial polo: accessible, beautifully located, and deeply connected to the local community it serves.
