Yarra Valley Polo Club

Yarra Valley Polo Club brings polo to Melbourne's beloved hinterland, situated among the green hills, artisan wineries, and boutique farms of the Yarra Valley region approximately 40 kilometres east of the city centre. The club's grounds provide a beautiful setting for polo within easy reach of Melbourne's population, making it an accessible and appealing option for both players and spectators who might otherwise have no connection to the sport. Operating within Victoria's polo circuit, Yarra Valley competes with clubs from the broader Melbourne region, Geelong, and regional Victorian centres in a domestic circuit that has grown steadily in recent decades. The club's proximity to Melbourne means it can draw on the city's large population of equestrian enthusiasts, many of whom maintain horses in Yarra Valley properties and find polo a natural extension of their riding interests. The club has invested in developing its facilities and training programme, offering introductory polo experiences that take advantage of the Yarra Valley's tourism appeal. Visitors combining a weekend in the region with a polo experience represent a growing audience that the club actively cultivates through partnership with local accommodation and winery operators. Victoria's polo culture has deep roots in the state's pastoral traditions, and Yarra Valley Polo Club contributes to that heritage while positioning itself within the contemporary leisure economy of one of Australia's most visited regional destinations.
