Manila Polo Club

Manila Polo Club is one of Asia's oldest and most distinguished polo institutions, founded in 1909 in the Forbes Park district of Makati — one of metropolitan Manila's most exclusive residential enclaves. The club's more than a century of continuous operation places it among the great surviving polo clubs of Asia, a living connection to the colonial era when polo was the defining sport of the British and American administrative classes across the Pacific and Southeast Asia. The club's Forbes Park location provides a remarkable urban polo experience: manicured grounds surrounded by the executive residences of Manila's most successful families, with the city's modern skyline visible beyond the club's perimeter. Manila Polo Club has evolved from a colonial institution into a genuinely Filipino institution, embraced by the country's most prominent families as a venue that combines sporting excellence with social prestige of the highest order. The club hosts a competitive season of polo that includes both domestic tournaments and international matches, attracting visiting teams from Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, and occasionally further afield. Its centennial status gives Manila Polo Club an authority in Southeast Asian polo circles that newer clubs cannot match, and its tournament calendar includes events of genuine historical significance. Beyond polo, Manila Polo Club offers its members a full range of social facilities — dining, corporate event spaces, and recreational amenities — that reflect its position as one of the Philippines' premier private clubs. Membership represents one of Metro Manila's most coveted social affiliations, combining sporting prestige with access to the country's most exclusive social network.
