Biography
Duki Zobel represents the next generation of the Zobel polo dynasty, carrying forward the family's deep commitment to polo in the Philippines with his own competitive ambitions and considerable playing ability. A regular at the Manila Polo Club — the institution his family did so much to build — Duki has established himself as one of the highest-handicapped active Filipino players, achieving a 4-goal rating under the Philippine Polo Association, which places him at the elite end of domestic polo in the country. He has played extensively at Manila Polo Club, competing in club tournaments and high-goal chukkas against visiting international professionals, and has also travelled to play polo in Argentina and the United States, gaining exposure to the highest levels of the sport. Duki's game reflects the family background — excellent horsemanship, a good understanding of tactics, and the competitive instinct of someone who has grown up watching and playing polo at a high level. He is actively involved in the social and organisational life of Manila Polo Club and is considered one of the key figures in the club's current generation of committed Filipino players. As polo in the Philippines continues to grow, Duki Zobel is among the most important emerging domestic figures in the sport.
