Biography
Eduardo Novillo Astrada is one of Argentine polo's most storied names, a member of a family that has produced multiple generations of elite players and whose collective achievements rank among the greatest in the sport's history. A 9-goal AAP player at his peak, Eduardo was a key figure in the success of La Aguada — the family team that challenged and defeated the dominant sides of the 1990s and 2000s in the Argentine Open. He competed at the very highest level of Argentine polo for over two decades, appearing in Argentine Triple Crown events as both a team leader and a vital professional player. His style of play was defined by exceptional horsemanship, a tactical mind shaped by years at the top, and the fierce family pride that characterises Novillo Astrada polo. Eduardo also competed extensively in England, winning major titles at Guards Polo Club and Cowdray Park, and his career spanned the era from the Heguy dominance through to the rise of La Dolfina. Now retired from elite competition, he remains a respected figure in Argentine polo circles and a role model for aspiring professionals across the country.
