Gonzalo "Gonza" Pieres Sr. is the founder of Ellerstina Polo Club and one of the most revered figures in Argentine polo history. A 10-goal handicap player throughout his prime, Pieres Sr. was a cornerstone of Argentine national teams during the 1980s and 1990s and is widely credited with building Ellerstina into one of the premier clubs in world polo. His sons Facundo, Nicolás, and Gonzalo Jr. all achieved elite 10-goal status, making the Pieres family the most accomplished polo dynasty ever to emerge from Argentina.
