John Paul MacDonald is New Zealand's highest-rated domestic polo player and the undisputed standard-bearer for the sport in the Southern Pacific. With a 7-goal handicap rating awarded by the New Zealand Polo Association, MacDonald has dominated the NZ Open circuit and is a multiple champion of the Milford NZ Polo Open, the country's premier tournament. Based in Canterbury on the South Island, he is the anchor of the Canterbury Polo Club's high-goal efforts and has represented New Zealand at international level on numerous occasions.
