About the Tournament

The Argentine Open (Campeonato Argentino de Polo Abierto) is the pinnacle of world polo — the finale of Argentina's legendary Triple Crown and the most prestigious polo tournament on earth. Held each November and December at the Campo Argentino de Polo in Palermo, Buenos Aires, the Open draws the four best teams in the world (La Dolfina, Ellerstina, Chapaleufú, and Alegría among the perennial contenders) and plays out across an intense six-week knockout format watched by tens of thousands of spectators daily. The atmosphere at Palermo during Argentine Open final week is electric — unique in world polo for combining elite-level sport with Argentina's extraordinary passion for equestrian culture.
