About the Tournament

The AlUla Desert Polo Championship is one of the world's most visually extraordinary polo events, held in the ancient Al-Ula valley in northwestern Saudi Arabia — a UNESCO World Heritage landscape of rose-red sandstone monoliths, ancient Nabataean cities, and millennia-old oases. The tournament brings international polo professionals to a setting that is simultaneously the oldest human-inhabited landscape in Arabia and one of the newest venues on the global polo circuit, as Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 initiative has channelled significant investment into transforming Al-Ula into a global destination for luxury sport and cultural tourism. Star-studded player rosters compete on a purpose-built arena field against a backdrop of rock formations that dwarf everything man-made in the arena.
